May I suggest Canine Cottage Kitchens, Sensitive Stomach Formula. (caninecottagekitchens.com) This is a hand cooked, highly digestible, highly nutritious food for dogs that uses superior organic and all natural ingredients. There is nothing on the market that compares. You will be very please with the results, as will your dog. Delicious and nutritious! Thanks!

You can't really tell if a dog food is really organic, but you can always get dog food with no wheat, soy, or corn fillers in it and with higher meat content.

I supplement the dog food I buy my sd (he gets a blend of Artemis Osopure, Wysong Archetype, Blue Wilderness, Origen, Natural Balance, Solid Gold Barking at the Moon, and Canidae) with raw bones with marrow, pumpkin, sweet potato, russet potatoes, raw carrots, asparagus, bananas, and a bland blend of rice, cottage cheese, and shredded chicken. His training treat is strained baby food chicken, baby food vienna sausages, or whole milk cheese. He also gets dog chicken jerky and greenies for chewing treats.

I have found that raw food has made my re-tired service dogs life Alot! healthyer and happier. Going from bad gas and tring to throw up in his sleep to Nothing!!!! I mean no gas or the other problem anymore. The vet didn't know how to solve this problem but me and internet info did. Also my current sd it has helped alot for his allergies but you do have to educate yourself before or when you do feed raw.

Now traveling. If you can take a cooler its do- able, as long as your have a freezer where you are going. Alot of hotels can put refrigerators in your room if you explain the reason. Check out yahoo groups on raw feeding. as in everything you can always have allergies to foods, dry or raw but not nessaraly all of these products.

This is an interesting blog. I wanted to mention that if a pet food is truly organic it should have a label stating that it is a USDA certified organic product. This means that it contains no residues from pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or chemicals accumulated during manufacturing that may include a number of the toxic chemicals that are associated with conventional pet food processing.

Moreover, when shopping for food, I personally prefer to look for grass-fed beef rather than corn-fed beef as corn is unnatural and dangerous to cows. Similarly, many food born illnesses can arise in feedlots. However, it is important to note that organic does not mean grass-fed and grass-fed does not mean organic. This is my own personal preference.

In your blog you mentioned price. Many of these organic products and grass-fed products are more expensive than covential processed food; however, there are reasons that the other food is so cheap. However, explaining this would be a blog post within itself. Nonetheless, I recommend that everyone conduct their own research into the food system so that they can make better decisions regarding what they serve themselves and their pets for dinner.
